How to Avoid Stretch Marks During Pregnancy

Jim Posey
Stretch marks are caused by rapid stretching of the skin. This is caused by the skin being stretched too far while an individual is adding mass to their body. Everyone from body builders who add muscle too fast to the morbidly obese will get stretch marks as they put on weight. Pregnant women will also suffer from accumulating a quick amount of mass underneath their skin when they are pregnant. Given what we know about stretch marks, so far, what s steps should you take to avoid stretch marks? You only have so many options. You can either reduce the rate that you put on mass. During a pregnancy this is not an option. Or you can increase the elasticity of the skin so that added mass is not stretching the skin beyond a comfortable zone.

Your body's skin elasticity can thankfully be increased through apply the right aloes. Make it a habit to apply body lotion all over your body during your body every morning right after you have a shower. Having a shower will open up your skin's pores and allow it to absorb the moisturizing elements of the lotions. Finding a body lotion that is fortified with Vitamin E is also particularly effective for preventing stretch marks. Look around to make sure that your body lotion contains the highest percentage of vitamin E possible to avoid stretch marks during pregnancy. You will also get an extra benefit of having very soft skin.

Massaging your body has also been known to increase skin elasticity and help avoid stretch marks during pregnancy. When you massage be forceful with your motions and really try to dig in deep to the skin. You are trying to literally stretch out an area of skin with your massage so make it a point to put some elbow grease into it. Coconut oil can also be used during your massages in order to loosen up the skin and apply more moisture. Getting your partner to massage you during pregnancy is a great way for you to build a deeper connection.

If you do happen to develop some amount of stretch marks simply applying some cream of milk fat will do wonders. Cream of milk fat has been known to make stretch marks fade with daily application. After applying cream of milk fat for a couple of months you will see a noticeable difference in the amount of stretch marks that are visible. Cream of milk fat should be applied regularly right after applying soap, like after shower.
