How to Make an Awesome Watermelon Margarita

Genesis
After many trips to my favorite restaurant, this drink became my favorite, and I decided I had to figure out how to make one at home. This is a great drink to make when you have a little extra time to put into making margarita. Also, this is an awesome substitute for people who are not fans of the traditional lime margarita.

What you will need to get started:

Watermelon puree

Lime simple syrup

Fresh limes cut into quarters

Sugar

Lime zest

Triple sec

Blanco tequila

Ice (crushed or cubed is fine)

Margarita or martini glasses (or your favorite party glass)

To make the Watermelon puree is easy. Just take a whole watermelon, seedless is the easiest, and blend it in your blender under the "puree" setting.

Making the lime simple syrup is also easy. Combine one cup of water and one cup of sugar with 2 tsp. of lime zest in a small sauce pan. Cook over low to medium heat until the sugar has dissolved and it comes to a simmer.

Before you start you will want to take another cup of sugar and mix this with about 2 tsp of lime zest. Dip the rims of your glasses into a small saucer of water and then into the sugar mixture. You can also add a lime wedge to the edge of the glass if desired. Set these glasses aside.

Once you have all your ingredients, and your glasses have the sugar on the rim you are ready to make your drink:

Combine in blender:

1 cups of ice

 cup of watermelon puree

 cup of lime simple syrup

 shot of triple sec

1 shot of Blanco tequila

Blend all these together until smooth. Pour into glasses slowly as to not knock all your sugar off of the glass. You can always add more puree or less tequila to suit your tastes. Or add more tequila, whatever makes you happy.

I have also found some people like this drink with about a shot of grenadine for a little different taste. If you would like to try it this way then wait until after you pour your drink and then add the grenadine. This will make your drink look even prettier.

I must warn you before you begin that this can be a messy drink to start making. The experience of making the watermelon puree is adventurous. Just make sure that you have a couple empty pitchers before you start to store your puree in.

Sorry to all for the odd looking symbols and such in this article. I know it sounds cheesy but it really didn't look like that when I previewed this article. Now that it is up of course I cannot edit that out. Most of the symbols just mean one. Thanks for being understanding of the blunder.
