How to Make a Bachelor Pizza

A Fast Snack for a Single Person on the Go

A bachelor pizza is basically bread sauce meat and cheese baked in a toaster oven or regular oven for several minutes. It takes only a few moments to throw together and requires very few ingredients.

There are several ways that you can prepare a bachelor pizza. The ingredients for a basic bachelor pizza are simple.

Bread (white, wheat or rye)
Butter (Optional)
Cheese (American, Swiss or Mozerella work well)
Sauce (Pizza, Marinara, Spaghetti sauce or even Catsup)
Garlic Powder
Salt (optional)
Pepper (optional)
Meat if desired (Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Hamburger or even just Bologna)

Toast the desired number of slices of bread in a toaster to crisp it. While the bread is toasting if you are working with catsup you may want to add some Italian spices to it to give it a bit of zest. Mix a pinch of Oregano and any other Italian spices you may have handy that improves the sauces flavor unless you prefer just plain catsup. When the bread has finished toasting place it in the toaster oven pan. If you choose to butter the toast do so, then lightly sprinkle with garlic. The butter will add to the flavor. Now spread your chosen sauce on the bread slice(s).

After you have spread a thin coat of sauce on the bread just add your chosen meats to it. If you are using Bologna you may wish to salt and pepper it and dice it up to make it more pizza like. Place your cheese over the meat and toss it in the toaster oven or regular oven on 400. Cooking times vary greatly from oven to oven so you will have to watch it at least the first time you make it. The cheese might burn quickly. It generally takes 5 minutes or less to heat thoroughly.

After it is done cooking you may want to give it a moment to cool slightly to avoid the napalm effect from the hot cheese. However some people enjoy their cheese in a magma state. That's all there is to it. Bachelor pizza is as variable as you want it to be, just like a regular crust style pizza. The flavor is better with higher quality ingredients but it's still a quick and easy snack that can be tossed together at a moments notice. Enjoy!

  • Bologna can be improved with a few spices, even just salt and pepper.
  • You can use any cheese you like.
  • Even if all you have is catsup you can still make yourself a pizza.
