Backpack is the perfect tool for helping you write more articles for many reasons. The main reason being, of course, that it's web based. Mainly, it's a great tool because it will help you organize your writing and schedule. You will spend less time thinking about what to write, gather links, and finding photos.
There are plenty of articles proclaiming the greatness of Backpack, but this article is about utilizing Backpack to help build your travel website. Backpack prides it's self on being multi-functional. Yes, it is built as an organizational tool, but can be setup to fit your own needs.
Using Backpack To Help Your Write More Articles - To-Do List
There are a variety of ways to use the to-do list feature in Backpack. The most common use will be to create a list of article ideas. For example: Article Ideas
Paintball Safety
Healthy Living
Best Time of Year to Plant Orchids No longer will you have to worry about losing all those napkins and scratch paper with article ideas. Now, you can have all of your articles ideas saved in a central location. Sure, you could create a file on your computer for article ideas, but with Backpack, your ideas are online. So, should anything ever happen to your computer, your ideas are safe and sound on the internet. Not to mention that since your ideas on online, you can access them from anywhere. I also like to create another to-do list of article ideas. This second list is for article ideas that pop into my head, but I'm not sure if they will make the cut. I like to label this section, Article Ideas to Research. For example: Article Ideas to Research
Paintball Safety
Way to live Green
Building a Green House You could also create a daily list of tasks to complete. For example, if you want to write five articles in one day, make a to-do list for everything that needs to get done to make that happen. For example, To-Do List for 2-17

Using Backpack To Help Your Write More Articles- Notes
This is the part of Backpack that I have found to be the most useful. I use the notes section to create individual outlines for each article I want to write on a given day.
You would be surprised at how much faster your article writing will go if you just create an outline for it. I used to think it was a pain and wasted time, but now, I don't know how I lived with out it.
Here is an example of how I use the notes section to create article outlines:

You'll notice that I added room to put links in as well. This helps save you time when publishing the article.
Using Backpack To Help Your Write More Articles- Pictures
It is important to note that this section only comes with the paid version, which is why I post links to photos in the notes section. If you use a paid version of backpack, then this is a great place to put article photos.
Using Backpack To Help Your Write More Articles- Writeboards
A write board is a central location where you can make a post and invite others to comment on it. I like to use these to communicate with people about my article drafts. I have a friend who reads over my articles before I publish them. This makes for a great place to share comments and ideas without having to email back and forth constantly.
Using Backpack To Help Your Write More Articles- Calendar
The calendar feature is a great way for you to create you own personal editorial calendar. You can setup deadlines for time specific content such as holiday related articles. It is also a nice place to set deadlines for all the work you created in your to-do list. This way you can stay on track with writing articles.
I like to create a weeks worth of article ideas and then plug them into the calendar. This way, I don't have to spend time thinking about what I'm going to write each day. I wake up, sign into Backpack, and see what's on my list for the day.
