First you need:
* Suitable conditions (Remember your backyard has to be big enough to have a good amount of people skate and the right weather conditions...it has to be really really cold.)
* Money (You're buying specially made materials so not any type of wood and screws can be used)
* Power Drill
* Saw (Depending if you bought too much wood and need to saw off some)
* Pressure treated lumber
* Guard decking screws
* Liner
* Time and patience (This isn't like freezing ice cubes in your home, your rink is much bigger so it uses more water and therefor takes longer. You are also using natures elements so it's not really up to you how long it'll take. :[ Trust me though it's worth it!)
Assembly of your Rink:
* All you need to do is set up your lumber based on the size and shape of your yard. Make sure to measure your yard before you buy otherwise your rink could be too big or too small.
* Screw each piece of wood tightly together (You don't want any water leaking out!)
* Lay your liner on the ground; buy a good thick one or one that will last all winter without undergoing any damage or leaking.
* Fill up your rink with water and wait! (Make sure you can afford the gallons of water otherwise your water bill will be expensive!)
* The temperature will determine how long you'll have to wait, the colder it is the shorter the wait and vise versa.
This rink can be used for ice skating and ice hockey! Best of all it's yours so no strangers crashing into you like on some public ice rink. You can use this rink for parties or just to have fun!
