How to Bag a Deal on a Laptop or Desktop Computer

All of the Steps Necessary to Save Some Cash!

Computers are becoming of much higher and higher demand every day. In fact, 4 in every 5 households in the United States have a computer with Internet access in their homes.

So shouldn't there be a really high demand for new computers and parts? There is. People are constantly on the lookout for new computers and parts to upgrade their current computers.

There are several ways to go about buying new computers. I personally have purchased over 10 computers in my days, just because me and my dad enjoy buying computers whenever we happen to see them for much cheaper than they're really worth. We typically end up selling the computer for a bit more than we bought it for, if it turns out that we really don't like the computer all that much.

Laptops are definitely a computer with an extremely high rising demand. I've had several laptops and enjoy shopping for them. Laptops are more expensive than desktop computers when you compare specifications in the two computers. This is because laptops are built differently. They're more compact and portable. They have built in wireless Internet, etc.

Here are some of the great ways to get deals on computers:

Best Buy / Circuit City Ads

If you get the paper, make sure to keep up on the ads from these two stores. You can really easily bag a deal if you pay attention to the ads in the newspaper and newsletters. There are a bunch of different ways to buy computers, and if you plan on buying from a store this is about the best way to do so.

Best Buy tends to put out a computer for a few hundred short of the actual price about once a week, usually you can find these computers in the sunday ad in the newspaper. These are usually great high-end laptops for around 800, which they'll sell on these days for somewhere around 500-600.

Circuit City is a decent place to buy computers, but they tend to make customers deal with a lot of rebates if they want a cheaper price on a computer... These are extremely annoying.

Ebay

Ebay is another great place to get laptops and desktops. Just make sure to really pay attention to prices, if you're looking for a lower end computer, ebay probably isn't the place to look the majority of the time, because people try to sell their old, obsolete, useless computers all the time for way too high of a price. Just pay attention and check prices on something before you buy it.

CraigsList

If you live in an area where you have access to craigs list, Use it! Craigslist.com is a great place to get good deals on just about anything. I've gotten a few laptops from people on craigslist. You can often find laptops on craigslist with a few missing parts, damaged parts, etc. for a very small fraction of the cost which can be fixed for relatively cheap. A while ago I got myself a sony Vaio laptop with a cracked screen, worth 800, for 100 because of the screen. I'm repairing the screen and will have the computer ready to go for about 100 bucks. So an 800$ computer for 200$.

Craigslist is a great place to buy computers because you can meet up with the people and see the laptop or desktop computer prior to buying it. I'd definitely recommend this over all of the other ways, because you can get your computer immediately. Just be careful who you go and see.
