How to Bake Softer Cookies

Anonymous Brandy
We all love cookies, right? I guess if you're reading this article, you enjoy baking them too. If you are searching for the right tip to get that extra softness you desire, try these hints on your next batch.

You can use these techniques with any recipe.

The best way to achieve that moist chewy cookie center is to remove your cookies from the oven slightly earlier than called for. Take your cookies out approximately 2 to 3 minutes early. You will want the cookies' edges to be a light golden brown and have a center that looks a little underdone or raw.

Another way to ensure extra softness is to melt your butter before adding it to your mixture. If your recipe requires butter and does not require you to melt it, do it anyway! Remember to let the butter cool before adding it to your mixture!! You could cook the eggs if it's too hot! It is better to only melt the butter slightly and let sit to melt the rest of the way. Start melting your butter before you begin your cookie batter.

Add softness with a teaspoon of olive oil.

Add extra chewiness by using only egg yolks. Discard all egg whites and use only the yolks if your recipe calls for eggs.

If your cookies are a little too done for your preference, put them in a container with a slice of bread. They should be much softer the following morning.

When storing softer cookies in a container, it is best to wait until they are completely cooled. Do not remove them from the baking sheet until they are thoroughly cooled. They will stick together or fall apart otherwise!

I hope these tips have helped and your cookies turn out to be delicious!
