How to Banish Energy from Stones and Crystals

There are several different methods you can use to banish energy or clear a stone or crystal. You must clear your stones every time you want to use them for a different purpose. Banishing the energy from a stone allows you to program it with whatever energy you want. The methods listed below will work for most stones but not all. When you start working with a new stone look up as much as you can about it. Some stones work well with one method and not the other .

Method 1
Place your stones or crystals in a bag or cloth. Take the bag outside and bury it in the Earth. Put something near the hole (like a lawn ornament or even another stone) to indicate where the stones are so you don't lose them by forgetting where they are buried. Leave the stones underground for 24 hours or longer. If the stone's energy feels strong you can leave it buried for up to 7 days. When you remove them from the ground wash off the stones with running water. Then place in a dark bag or a container to sit until you want to charge them.

Method 2
The moonlight and sunlight can both be used to banish energy from stones. Fill a glass bowl with water and place outside. This can be done in the day or at night. Don't use this method when its cloudy or when you can't see the sun or moon. If you can't place the bowl outside you may sit it on your windowsill. Leave the stones in the water for 12 hours. After you remove the stones place each in a dark bag or container until you're ready to use them.

Method 3
Many of us burn sage to purify our homes and even ourselves. Sage is so versatile that you can also use it to banish away negative energies from objects, stones and crystals. It is quickest method although I do have one recommendation, don't use this method the first time you banish energy from a stone or crystal. The first time try method one or two. The reason is that the sage works fast and its effects may not be strong enough to erase all energies in an object like a stone especially if the stone was charged before by someone else. Once you "know" the stone a little better the sage will work just fine.

Method 4
This is a another easy method but it cannot be used with all stones. Put your stones in a dish or bowl. Fill the bowl up with salt making sure to cover the stones completely. Let them sit for 24 hours then rinse off and put them away.

Method 5
If you can't do any of the methods mentioned above then try simply running water over the stone. Hold the stone under the faucet or any running water and focus intensely on clearing it of energy. You will have to hold the stone there for a couple of minutes for this method to work. Just as method 3 don't use this method the first time you clear your stones.
