Got monsters in your room at night? Wondering how to ward them off and keep them away? Read on for tried and true tips on keeping those stinky monsters out of your room!
A special night light
There has been evidence that monsters do not like nightlights. Try using one that's full of flair, like a rocket ship or a Tinkerbell nightlight The more flair it has, the better chance there is of warding off the monster.
Hire a guard
Got a big teddy bear sitting around? Maybe you have a ferocious Barbie doll that isn't afraid of anything. Either way, hire one of your most beloved friends to guard your bed. Simply place the doll or stuffed animal in front of your bed, and then you can rest peacefully knowing that they'll take care of any monsters that may come your way.
Make monster spray
If it's one thing monsters can't stand, it's monster spray! Have a grown-up help you by getting an empty spray bottle and filling it totally with water. Then add a few drops of a magic ingredient called lavender. Spray a few times each night over your room before going to bed, and you're all set.
Do a monster mash
There is a special dance that you can do to help scare away the monsters from your room. What you do is stand right in the middle of your room, spin around three times, and shout, "Monsters mash, monsters bash, now go away, go away, to the trash!". But make sure you say this with a lot of feeling so that the monsters know that you mean business.
Talk to a grown-up you trust
Try talking to someone you trust that has been through the whole monster invasion dilemma before. Believe it or not, your mom or dad may have had monsters in their room, too, when they were younger. Even uncles and aunts and grandparents may have had run-ins with monsters. You never know when a grown-up may have good advice with dealing with them. Grown-ups tend to have good listening ears and can offer you understanding and protection.
Watch Monsters Inc.
Monsters Inc. is a great movie about a little girl named Boo who visits the monster world and sees how the other side lives. It shows that not all monsters are bad, and that we don't need to be afraid of them. In fact, you might even be surprised to find out that monsters are usually afraid of YOU.
