How to Make Basic Meat Balls

g christine
Here's a basic recipe for how to make meatballs. These are great for spaghetti, or to put in meatball sandwiches. I like to just eat them by themselves. You can add seasonings, or any other ingredients to spice them up if you want to. I usually add at least some garlic, but you can add what you want, as long as you can get them to roll into little balls. You can also make healthier meatballs by just using egg whites instead of whole eggs, and whole grain flour instead of white. You can use any type of ground meat, or a combination of more than one variety.

What you need

1 pound fresh ground beef

Salt and pepper to taste

2 eggs

2 cups of bread crumbs

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2: Put all of your ingredients into a large bowl, in no particular order.

Step 3: Use your hands to mash all the ingredients together. Make sure they are thoroughly mixed. This is messy, but using your hands is really the only way it works well.

Step 4: Take small pieces of the hamburger mix, and roll into small, one to one and a half inch balls. Place the balls on an ungreased cookie sheet as you go, leaving a one inch space in between balls. Make sure the balls are all uniform in size, or they won't cook evenly.

Step 5: Bake your meat balls for 30 minutes, or until they are no longer pink in the middle. Use a paper towel to remove any grease when they are done.
