How to Bathe Twins so that You Don't Get Stressed Out

A Few Ideas and Suggestions for Parents of Twins

Mrs. Renee
Trying to give your twins a bath can definitely be a very difficult challenge, especially if you don't have any help. So I decided to get a group of mothers together in order to see what solutions that have come up with that makes bath time with twins a little bit easier. Following are the suggestions that I received.

One mother said that she rotates bath nights with her twins. For example on Mondays, she will give one a bathe and on Tuesday she will give the other a bath. On weekends she usually has her husband or her mother to help her with baths so she is able to bathe them together. However she has found the by rotating bath nights she is not as stressed out. Some of the other mothers agreed that bathing them separately definitely helps to make your life easier. However one mother suggested getting a bath tub that hold twins. The one that she uses is called the "Baby Dux Safety Bath". What she loves is that is allows her to have her hands free so that she can quickly and easily clean both babies.

She said that if you don't have any help then you should make sure that you set up your baby dressing area before you put them in the bathtub. You should have their towels ready, diapers, lotion, and baby cream. This should be set up right next to the bathtub. This way as soon as you take one out you can place them right on their towel. She says that she sets up a nice area on the bathroom floor using her changing pads. This way she does not have to worry about the one baby rolling off of anything when she is getting them out of the tub.

Another suggestion was to make sure that you have plenty of toys in the tub for the babies especially as they get older. This will help to keep them entertained and occupied. Once final suggestion was to bath them in the sink of your kitchen or bathroom which ever is larger. She just uses a regular baby tub to hold them and put one on either side. She said this works best for her, because it is definitely a lot easier on her back. All of the mothers that I spoke with really had some great suggestions and ideas on how to give your baby a bath without really getting stressed out. The one thing they all agreed on was that if you can get help then takes it. The easiest way is to have someone help you, but if you must go it alone, then try using some of the suggestions above.
