What we can learn from the Biggest Loser is that all Americans need to be on a health diet, exercise at least 30 minutes a day and need a support group.
Americans live a busy life indeed. We owe it to ourselves to take care of our body. Let's delve into how we can beat obesity.
Diet is the first idea on how to beat obesity. The easiest thing to do is actually follow the Food Pyramid from the United States Department of Agriculture. Even though we do not like vegetables, eat the vegetable any ways. Five servings a day, which the Food Pyramid recommends, is tough to chew. Here is an easy way to do it. Make a salad every day. The Food Network website has many ideas you can do. You can easily fit in 3 to 4 servings of vegetables at lunch alone. This only leads one more serving at dinner! At breakfast grab some fruit and some small protein. There is your fruit serving for the day. If you like fast food, find some alternatives like a Parfait from McDonalds. The Parfait has your dairy, grains and very healthy fruit. The greatest thing to do is not to buy the junk food in the first place. If it is not around, you will not be tempted. If Americans follow the Food Pyramid, and stop drinking soda pop, we will start becoming a lighter society.
Next, Americans need to exercise 30 minutes a day at least 6 days a week. The American Cancer Society suggests being active daily. If a person is desperate for some more in-depth help, the American Cancer Society will be glad to help you setup an exercise plan, http://cancer.org. Here is a very easy way to exercise, shed pounds and fit it in 30 minutes. For 3 days a week, do circuit training. A person will lose weight faster with cardio and weight training combined. The other 3 days of the week, try doing straight cardio. Find something you like. Running, biking, swimming are great ideas. If Americans exercise like 30 minutes a day, we will become a lighter society and beat obesity.
Here is the final step to beat obesity. Find a support group. Weight Watchers is great. If money is a problem, get friends together and start a beat obesity club. If people support each other through diet and exercise, things will be easier. Remember that you are your surroundings.
If Americans want to beat obesity, they need to follow these three steps. First, follow the Food Pyramid exactly. Next, exercise 30 minutes a day. Finally, find a support group to do the first two steps. If Americans follow the suggestions in this article, we will beat obesity.
