How To Beat A Speeding Ticket - Reason #1 - Your Wallet
A recent study was conducted that revealed that the average cost of a simple speeding ticket in the United States was $1200. Yes, that's right...one thousand, two hundred dollars! Of course, this takes into consideration more than just the cost of the fine (which averaged about $400), but also the increased insurance costs over the next three years.
Insurance companies, no matter what they tell you, do not like to insure high risk people. The reason for this is because they will ultimately have to pay out more money to or for these "high risk" cases. Of course, they have found a way around this and that is through raising the premiums of their "high risk" cases.
If you've just been ticketed for speeding, your insurance company will now regard YOU as a "high risk" case. The result of your one ticket will be "high risk" premium for at least the next three years and that's why there is an additional $800 that you will have to pay out in addition to your fine.
Remember though, these figures are only an average. In some states, like California where I live, the total cost will be significantly more. And forget it if this is your second or third speeding ticket in the last few years! If that's the case for you, expect some really BIG increases, way beyond the average.
How To Beat A Speeding Ticket - Reason #2 - Your Record
This is reason is closely associated with reason #1. Your driving record will be less than perfect for at least 3 years. In some states, your speeding ticket will remain on your driving record for up to 7 years! What does this mean to you? Mostly money, in the form of insurance increases, but also possible job opportunities. Some jobs do require a very good driving record and most back ground checks will involve a look at your Department of Motor Vehicle report. Though you may not be on the job hunt now, you never know where you may be next year.
How To Beat A Speeding Ticket - Reason #3 - Your Time
So you go to court with your speeding ticket in hand and since you have such a clean record, the Judge offers you Traffic School. Oh boy, now that's sure to lead to a laugh a minute! It is common knowledge that the easiest place to fall asleep is in a traffic school. Why? Because they are boooooring! Imagine having to spend 8 to 16 hours of your life listening to someone tell you why you need to obey the laws of the land.
What is your time worth to you? If it is anything more than minimum wage, then spending four or five evenings trying not to be the first person to fall asleep in class, is not the place you want to be.
In this article, I hope that you have seen the three reasons why you need to learn How To Beat A Speeding Ticket....your money, your record and your time. If you are ready to learn, help is on the way!
You deserve to keep your money in your pocket, your record clean and spend your time as you wish.

OK. You've presented a good case for why I have to beat a speeding ticket. Now, can you tell me HOW to beat it? I mean outside of not getting caught or not speeding in the first place.
Great article, but here's a thought; How about NOT speeding in the first place.
