How to Beat the Summer Heat Wave

Sabrina Favoriti
The summer is here and with it comes the heat and for some parts of the countries the thermometers go way up in the high 90's and 100's and this can actually be not good for your health but there are some things that you can do to beat the heat.

Schedule your most strenuous activities or early in the morning or in the evenings when it is cooler. And if you are working on your garden or jogging make sure to take breaks preferably under a shade.

Dress in light cotton clothing and try to wear a hat and always use sun screen or sun block.

Drink lots of water, staying hydrated during the hot weather is important especially if you have low blood pressure. Try to drink a liter to two liters a day of plain water and alternate them with a sports drink, but try to avoid alcohols as it will dehydrate you.

Eat light nutritious meals and non-fatty meals so stay away from fast food joints.
