The first thing you want to do to become a better gamer, is realize that whenever you play an online game you are pitted against people who have been gaming for years and playing this specific game for longer than you. It is important to not get discouraged in the early learning stage of a new videogame just because one person keeps killing your character.
Besides getting an understanding that there are better gamers out there than you, to become a better gamer yourself, you need to practice. If you play an online shooter game, the best thing you can do to become a better gamer is run practice rounds against opponents until you see yourself catching on. Depending on the person's age and amount of time they can commit to a video game there is a range anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months of solid play until improvement shows through enough to get ranked in the end of match statistics.
Practicing and spending more hours playing a game are the only realistic ways to make yourself into a better gamer, however some are born with a natural talent that allows them to conquer a game with minimal practice. These types are common among todays youth, so if you want to become a better gamer, try playing against one of them. Playing against someone who is better than you at a game is the perfect set up to help you learn the tools of the trade. Similar to sports, to become a better gamer, you need to practice with people at, or above your level of play. Although it may be gratifying to win against someone who is not as skilled as you, you will never learn as much as you will when you lose.
Besides practicing the game, some people can find themselves becoming better games by watching others play. Similar to if you were to play against someone better than you, by watching someone better than you, you can pick up all the common trends they follow to help them win.
Overall if you want to become a better gamer, there is nothing more beneficial then time honored practice. Playing for at least a couple hours a day for a solid week can transform any novice into a pro.

Post a CommentYou can't beat practice, that's for sure. Watching a pro play the game is always a great way to learn. I find that as I have got older my reflexes and quick response aren't as sharp as they used to be, which makes a huge difference if you are being attacked on all sides.
