How to Become a Certified UFO Field Investigator

Even If You Had No Idea Such a Thing Existed

V. Sanders,
Have you ever considered how exhilarating it would be to be the person who gets called out to investigate an unexplained UFO sighting? What it might feel like to arrive on the scene, question the people present, take scientific readings and record data, then present your findings to the community? Can you envision what it would mean to be the very first investigator to record evidence of a sighting that in the end helped to prove that it was real? Or to represent a respected world wide agency as a field investigator?

According to statistics gathered in 2002 one in seven Americans claim they themselves, or someone they know has has direct experience with an UFO. Considering that statistic it is not surprising to discover that there are people who investigate these sightings, and even a process for becoming certified as a field investigator! Of course you won't find these courses on the list of available certificate options at your local technical school, and for that reason people who endeavor to follow such a path are often discouraged to the point of giving up on their search for lack of guidance and information. The aim of this article is to clear up that confusion and give those seekers a possible route to fulfilling that desire. There is an organization that offers a certification and training program, without wasting a lot of your money, or attempting to sell you any hype.

MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network is a non profit organization dedicated to the scientific research of UFO phenomenon, it is also the world's largest UFO Research organization. They list their goals as being to investigate sightings, promote research, and to educate the public, and they seem to take these goals very seriously. Their website has many features to help you identify anything you might have seen in the sky to make determinations as to if there is a simple explanation, they also operate a huge database system for reporting sightings. To join MUFON you simply pay a yearly membership fee, which is basically $45 per person, but varies based on circumstances and number of household members who would like join, as is customary with non profit organizations.

When you join MUFON you can make known your desire to become a field investigator, purchase the required book, and eventually take the certification test and head your own Field Investigations based on reports of sightings that come into MUFON. In order to pass the test, according to the website one must achieve an 80% or better test score . The test itself covers the following areas: light and optics; sound; electromagnetic properties; measurements; physical traces; photography; radio and radar; celestial objects; atmosphere and weather; witness reactions; and the recent history of UFO experiences.

While it is , of course , possible for one to launch their own independent investigation of UFO sightings, anyone doing so would be hindered by the time it would take to build credibility and communication to the point that they would risk ultimately giving up after facing repetitive frustration. Working within an already established community of investigators who are willing to share their knowledge would certainly aid the investigator in getting a sound start. Having a certificate and the support of an established organization would also help to prevent your immediate dismissal as a curiosity seeker or busy body at the site as well.

It definitely takes a lot to be a field investigator of UFO phenomenon, not just in time and dedication~ but also in accepting that you will run into dismissal and sometimes outright ridicule from some in your community, which can be extremely hard to handle when it comes from loved ones. It takes a special person to hold up under such doubt, but for those for whom the truth is necessity, the search continues.

coming from england ive never doubted u.f.os at all and ive had 2 very good sightings not dots in the sky but a cluster of red dots which looked like they were working its way down the side of a very big diamond shaped object with bigger red dots in the centre which circled the object i had a witness to this as he pointed it out to me,the second was seen by many witnesses in the summer of this year after i was returning home from my brothers house the night england played against the u.s.a in the world cup i saw several peaple taking photos in the sky i had a look and saw it it was a massive object with a dome and had points going of in all directions nothing was mentioned in the tabloid press,as i got home started to get a very sharp headache which went after 10 mins my guess attributed to what i saw.

The Government knows and they are good at misleading people. Except, it is not always in their best interest to keep us in the dark. One day I think we will all get a handle of what is going on when the time is right!

i believe very strongly that most goverments if not all are covering up the whole topic of extraterestrials and of course the crafts that they perpusly arrived in. I think the goverments should come clean about all they know.

I think there's something going on somethings there. To me I believe it's other intelligent life or the government is hiding some kind of aircraft they have invinted or there covering up that we have been visited by others and there afraid to go public with it in fear of what the public would do. Like freak out or something but there's something going on it's just finding out what is going on.

Interesting article! I think it's arrogance to think we're the only ones that exist. There has to be people out there more intelligent than us.
