How to Become a Click Bank Affiliate

Regina Paul
If you've been on the internet for any length of time you know who Click Bank is, but in just in case you don't, they are a place where authors of digital products such as e-books, software, and even services can peddle their wares.

That being said, there are a large number of products on Click Bank, and you can earn money for the sales you make on them through your blog or website. Now, one thing to keep in mind is to choose products that match the information on your blog or website. For example my blog is about legitimate paid online opportunities. Several of them are opportunities to make money writing. So, when I chose products from Click Bank, I choose ones that had to with writing. I chose not to pick ones about making money online because there is already enough of those that you can download for free. Most of these kinds of e-books have inflated prices, and most if not all of the information you can get elsewhere on the internet for free. I personally don't want to promote those kinds of books. However, books about writing and on topics that may not be available so easily and which I have either read or know of others who have are better for this.

So, the first step is to sign up for a Click Bank account which takes about 2 minutes to do. Then Click Bank sends you your password in the e-mail. Once you log back in, your account page will come up and on the far right there is a Next Step, Go to Account Settings box and Complete Your My Account. This will take you to another window where you provide them with your Tax ID or Social Security Number. Make sure you click on Save Changes once you've filled in the extra information.

Now you'll notice another box on the far right with the next step which has to do with becoming an affiliate. Click on the word "here" at the bottom of the paragraph and this will take you to the Affiliates page. At the bottom it details what you need to do, but not very specifically.

First you need to click on the link for the Click Bank Marketplace. This will take you to their catalog where you can search for products to endorse and receive a commission for selling from your website. As I mentioned before it's a good idea to research the products you are interested in a bit, and to choose products which are compatible with your website or blog.

So, you've searched the marketplace, and you've found a product, you've read the pitch page and researched it a bit, talked to someone who tried it and liked it, or you tried it yourself, so now what? Now you click on the Create Hoplink link. This will bring up a box that asks for your ClickBank Nickname, which is the member name you chose for yourself when you signed up, and a Tracking ID. The tracking ID is a bit confusing if you don't know what this is. Basically it is an ID composed of letters and numbers that you can create so you can track your sales of this product. They are optional and you only need to pick one if you want to be able to track the products you are choosing. I personally decided to create tracking ID's but it's up to you whether you want to or not.

Once you enter this info, then Click Bank will generate the text link or hoplink to put on your website, and all you have to do is put this text link on your blog or website. Don't forget to change the wording of the text link to match the title of your product or some other way to make people interested. They don't do that part for you!

I only chose three Click Bank products to put on my Paid Online Opportunities blog because I couldn't find any others that I thought would be helpful or that I trusted enough to put on my blog. I hope you find this information helpful!

  • Match the products to your blog or website's subject.
  • Your Tax ID is the same as your Social Security Number.
Click Bank walks you through it, but it helps to have detailed instructions.
