decision. This decision is always the driving force that guides us into the actualization of that which is desired.
It remains a fact that there are different kinds of park rangers available in the field. They all seem to be
doing one thing, but the result they produce at the end of the day is what creates a distinction among them.
It is always advisable to always put into consideration some important factor before deciding whether you want to
become a park ranger with a difference.
You must bear in mind the fact that there are lots of responsibilities involved. This implies that the safety and well being of all those visitors or workers are solely your responsibility. In other words, you will be responsible for ensuring that the park is properly maintained, ensure nature preservation and collecting of fees among others. Your ability to handle the aforementioned task means that you are ready and fit to become not just any kind of park ranger but an effective and unique park ranger. Here are some tips required to become an expert park ranger.
1. Make sure that while you were in high school, you studied science courses. This should include the
natural and biological science.
2. Ensure that your institute of study offers a degree in a field such as forestry, natural history, park
management, or any of the environmental related field. The implication of this is that you must bag your degree
from any recognized four year college. And if you are confused as to making the right choice, it is best you seek out a guidance counselor who will guide you on the best route to take.
3. It will be an added advantage that you have a CPR certification before rounding your college program. Make sure that you renew it upon expiration this is because of its importance in the process of becoming a park ranger.
You will also need to back your CPR certificate with seasonal law enforcement certificate which is a requisite
for your becoming a law enforcement ranger. In some degree awarding institution, the certification is a 300 hour course and that is why it takes a longer period of time to obtain it. All these qualification is to help season you up thereby, transforming you into an effective, distinct and unique park ranger.
