How to Become Lauren or Audrina from The Hills for Halloween

So you are a loyal fan of "The Hills", maybe you even used to watch "Laguna Beach" back in the day... now you have decided that you simply MUST be one of the lovely ladies from "The Hills" for Halloween. I am going to give you some suggestions on how to turn yourself into Lauren Conrad and/or Audrina Patridge from "The Hills". The first step is to figure out which of the girls you would like to be. There is the obvious blond and brunette factor that could affect your decision, but you could always buy a wig (it is Halloween after all). So the next thing to take into consideration is do you prefer Lauren's fashion-forward style or would you rather be a glam rocker like Audrina?

Makeup:

The first thing you need to do is apply a tinted moisturizer such as Hard Candy Hint Tint, Smashbox Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer, or if you are a Clinique fan like me you can get the Clinique Moisture Sheer Tint. Apply this moisturizer all over your face and allow it to sink in before you continue on or your makeup will look caked on. If needed, apply foundation. Then apply powder.

To get smoky eyes like Lauren, Audrina, and the other ladies from "The Hills" wear for a night out get your supplies ready. You will need to have concealer, black eyeliner (preferably not liquid because you're trying to achieve a dreamy look and not a strong line), two or more colors of eye shadow, and black thickening mascara. Use concealer all over your eyelids to create a "canvas". Outline your eyes with the eyeliner all the way around making a heavier line around the top lash. Next you will apply the base coat of eye shadow to your eyelid, the crease in your eye, and about half way up to your eyebrow and blend the edges lightly. With the next, darker color, you will need to carefully outline your eyes (blend with the eyeliner and keep this line thin) and then apply this color to the crease in your eye as well. Use this darker color again to make a slight (about 35 degree) triangle with the point starting at the crease above your pupil and going out towards the outer edge of your eye using the bone as your guide. Next you will need to use a very light shade of eye shadow to highlight just under your eyebrow where there is no eye shadow yet. If you are looking to up the wow factor even more, you should apply false eyelashes-the individual ones, not the big strip.

With this dramatic eye look, you will need to use a little more blush to keep your face from looking washed out. Keep your lips a lighter color because you don't want to end up looking like a prostitute. Lauren's favorite lip choice is mark Glow Baby Glow Hook Up Lip Gloss in Pink Crush. As you may know, Lauren Conrad is a spokesperson for the mark brand, so on their website you can see which specific products she personally uses for an even more authentic Lauren look this Halloween.

Hair:

You can try for a loosely pinned back hairdo, but usually for a night out on the town, Audrina and Lauren wear their hair long and flowing with a little bit of wave or some loose curls. Tease your hair a little bit before curling to keep it from looking limp and lifeless on the top. If you have bangs, wear them swept to the side.

Clothing:

Lauren's trademark style is usually cute babydoll dresses, tunics with leggings, or one of the dresses from her own clothing line. Audrina is more of a rocker chick, but still wears adorable dresses. Since you will probably be wearing this costume out at night, I suggest a dress and heels despite which girl you choose to dress as, just keep their individual style in mind when choosing the dress and shoes. Personally I am always on a budget and I would just get a cheaper version at a local store. Think Betsey Johnson for the shoes, something with a medium sized heel and lots of sass. If it is going to be cold on Halloween in your location, I suggest a trench coat in hounds tooth or plaid to keep with the style of your costume. Don't forget to make sure your nails look beautiful to match your look either!

Props and Accessories:

A fantastic purse is an absolute necessity to pull off this costume. None of the girls from The Hills would leave their homes without a great purse. I am personally a big fan of Chanel, but Lauren has her own line of bags. If you are going as Lauren perhaps you could get your boy to dress up as Brody Jenner and if you are Audrina perhaps you could get your very own Justin Bobby (or find yourself one of these fellas at a party if you are single). Bring a camera phone, not only for the aesthetics that it will bring to the costume, but also to capture the amazing times you are going to have because you will be looking phenomenal!

These are such great costumes. They allow you to look super sexy and feminine and still be in the spirit of Halloween. Don't forget you also get to live a night in the life of The Hills ladies while having a great time with your friends (maybe they'll dress up as Heidi, Whitney, or Lo). Just beware of all of those Spencer Pratt characters and you'll have a great night!
