How to Become Photogenic

If you're the type of person who runs in fear when you see a camera, you are not alone. Many people have the "camera phobia" curse and just cannot seem to get over it. A lot of people who have a camera phobia tend to have their picture taken at the wrong time, sometimes even the wrong place.

Having your picture taken at the wrong time can cause many problems. The most common problem with having your picture taken at the wrong time is quick movement or strange body placement. These are most likely to occur when you are moving or adjusting yourself. It is most likely at these moments, if your picture is taken, you will look fatter, your face may have strange appearance to it, and your figure will be way out of proportion with your head.

Another common problem when having your picture taken is your surrounding area. If you are in a darker area, your photo will be more washed and dull appearing, hence making you look the same. If your surrounding area is really bright, the odds are your picture will come out very bright, hence blanking an area on your body. Also an ugly background may just make for an ugly picture period. It may have nothing to go with you at all. An ugly background is more apt to draw attention to itself and away from the individual. Not good.

So today we are going to talk about how to get your picture taken and look good! No one wants bad pictures of themselves. You do not want to have to hide your photos from friends and family. It is time to let those pictures of you shine!

The number one key to a great looking photo is to smile. Yes, that is it, smile! Some photos come out looking fine when you are not smiling, but it all depends on the mood of the picture. If you have a gracefully closed mouth in the picture, the odds are it will look fine. But if you have a mean looking mouth in the photo, it will draw away more attention than anything. So be prepared and get that smile on.

Have you ever heard the saying that a camera adds 10 pounds? This is not always true with just a semi-body shot, but with a full body shot is where this tends to take order. The key to a good looking body shot is to suck it in. Do not go for the whole "I cannot breathe...going to fall over dead in a couple seconds" look. Just try to take a graceful suck in. Also avoid angling your face too far down and too far up. This will cast shadows and cause unwanted appearance problems.

Try to stay easy on the foundation at certain times of the day if you are having your picture taken outside. Outside-natural light tends to draw a lot of attention to makeup. You want to be as natural as you can when you are having an outside photo taken. Now during the night or late afternoon, you can have better photos taken outside while wearing more makeup. It is all about the lighting.

The number one key to having a great picture taken is to just be you and be 100% confident in front of the camera. A non-confident individual can be drawn out of a crowd of confident individuals in any photo. If you feel it, it will show. Be happy and proud of who you are. You are one of kind and there is no one else out there like you. Feel free to flaunt it!
