Men and women who are at least 18 years of age can volunteer at Grady Health Care System. To work at Grady, as a volunteer, you will need to show documentation that you have had your MMR vaccine. You must also show that you have had a TB test within 30 days of becoming a volunteer at Grady.

To become a volunteer at Grady Health Care System, you will need to complete a volunteer application. The volunteer application is similar to a work application, in that you need to answer questions that are asked, and you need to list your references and how to contact them. You will not be able to serve as a volunteer until your references have been checked and verified.

You may apply to Grady Health Care System online here. You may also download an application to fill out and send to Grady here. Once you have submitted your application and your references have been contacted, the next part of the process is to submit to an interview.

At your interview, your interviewer will ask you why you want to become a volunteer. It is very important to have the right motives to become a volunteer. Your primary reason to volunteer at Grady should be to serve the patients and staff at Grady, and not for future career opportunities.

The next step of the process to become a volunteer at Grady is the orientation process. At orientation, you will need to become familiar with all of the policies and procedures of becoming a volunteer. You will also become familiar with protocols for fire safety, security, infection control and patient confidentiality.
