First, everything does not have to match. Don't run out and buy a bed in a bag. You know those comforters, sheets and curtains in one. They are usually around 200 thread count and come in the most hideous patterns available. Instead opt to spend more money on one thing like great sheets. If you have never worried about high thread count sheets before, it's time to treat yourself. Try 500 thread count sheets or higher. The difference will amaze you. An easy alternative to investing in high thread count sheets would be choosing flannel sheets. They are thicker than regular sheets and offer more warmth. If you already have the right sheets then go one step up from a regular comforter. Invest in a down comforter. They are light and airy, yet keep you warmer than a regular blanket.
Now that you have the proper sheets and comforter, focus in on your mattress. Mattresses are expensive and not everybody can afford a new one. Instead of investing thousands of dollars, try buying a feather bed to top your mattress. It adds extra support while completely comforting your body.
From the bed, now we'll move to the walls. Choose a soothing color to wake up to in the morning. A light blue or green offers comfort and relaxing sensations. Also, keep decorating simple, but include things that inspire or make you feel happy. Family photos or a favorite piece of art are decorations anybody would want to open their eyes to each morning.
Add something special to the bedroom that makes you long to go to sleep. Fish tanks add great color to any room. Additionally, fish are relaxing to watch at the end of a long day. The faint water sound will also help you fall asleep.
A great bedroom does not have to come with a huge price tag. By surrounding yourself with things that make you comfortable, you will find yourself better rested and ready to take on each day with a smile.
