How Can You Beleive

C. Love
How can you believe they'll be there
When no one ever has?
How can you believe they won't leave
When nothing ever lasts?
How can you believe they won't hurt you
Like everyone that's come before?
How can you believe what they tell you
If there's no established rapport?
How can you believe in other people
When they've always let you down?
How can you believe you can depend on anyone
When no one's stuck around?
How can you believe in family
When you've never felt closely related?
How can you believe in happiness
When you've always felt doomed and fated?
How can you believe in faith
When nothing has ever come through?
How can you believe in tomorrow
When all your yesterdays are blue?
How can you believe in anything?
You have to open up and try
How can you believe in a better tomorrow?
It's the only reason to stay alive

All hopelessness could lead to faith. You are a very deep person. I agree with Tye.

"You have to open up and try; How can you believe in a better tomorrow? It's the only reason to stay alive" These words say it all. Without faith and hope there is no reason to get out of bed each morning. We must believe there's something better just around the corner and never lose the faith - no matter how bad things may look at the moment. Very well done. And what a lovely photo of you!

You asked very thought provoking questions in this poem. Continuing to believe is what makes life challenges seem less overbearing. Well done.

It can be so hard to believe. Great poem...mildly morbid at first.
