When you enter a bar and order a whiskey sour, you are often receiving a drink that is presented to you with a lower brand type of whiskey. The whiskey you will be using to make a Berkshire Whiskey Sour is Seagrams. Seagrams whiskey offers you a whiskey that is made out of sixty-six percent grain alcohol. This ensures you that you will be drinking a strong whiskey that is not go overboard in alcohol content.
What will be mixed with this whiskey is extremely important. Many people go out and buy pre-made sweet and sour mixes that do not provide a unique and flavor grasping taste. The Berkshire Whiskey Sour provides is just that. What will be needed for proper mixing is minute maid lemon juice, maraschino cherries, powder sugar, and several lemons. You will take the lemon juice and powder sugar and mix them together. After you mix them together, you will heat up the mix in the microwave for about a minute. Once you have done that, make sure to shake the mix together so that it truly blends. Place the mix into the freezer to let it cool together and turn into a slight slush. Make sure to not leave the mix in the freezer too long because it could freeze and ruin the entire process.
Next you will cur up your lemons and maraschino cherries. When cutting up the lemons, make sure to get rid of the outer peal so that you can chop up the lemon to as small of pieces as possible. Once you have cut both of these products, place them into a bowl together and mash together. By doing this mashing/mixing, you are guaranteed that both flavors will be mixed together for proper placing into your drink. This ensures you get a slight taste of both when places into your drink.
Grab a small 10 oz glass and pour an ounce of whiskey into the glass. After you have done this, throw one ice cube into the glass. Once the ice cube is in there, take two table spoons of your maraschino cherry/lemon mix and place them into the glass. You will then take your slightly slushed lemon juice and powder mix out of the freezer. You will pour the mix into the glass until you reach the top. After this task is completed, you will take a spoon and mix the drink as much as possible.
You now have yourself a one of a kind Berkshire Whiskey Sour. All of these ingredients are incredibly important to truly enjoying this drink. I have tried many times to make this drink differently, but the result is never the same. If you are a fan of the whiskey sour and want to try a unique variation of the drink, give this a shot. The Berkshire Whiskey Sour is one of a kind and promises to leave your mouth wanting more.
