What you need:
2 3/4 cups of flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup ( 2 sticks ) butter
Bag of Nestle's Toll House Chocolate Chips
Pre-heat oven to 3750 F.
Microwave butter in a large bowl until butter is soft ( but not melted!). Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract to large bowl and beat together. Put flour, salt, and baking soda in small bowl. Add eggs to large bowl one at a time, beating after each addition. Then add contents of small bowl to large bowl a little bit at a time ( The extra 1/2 cup of flour from the original recipe makes the dough very thick ). Add as many chocolate chips as desired and stir.
Use two spoons to make dough balls and place on cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes or when edges are JUST getting a little brown. If anything take them out a little undercooked. They will look a little puffy but with cooling will go down to that classic cookie shape. This is what makes them chewy for longer than a day. Let them cool on a cooling rack. This recipe makes about 3-5 dozen cookies. Depends on how much dough you eat along the way.
Because these cookies tend to disappear very quickly, double everything in the recipe for even more cookies. More cookies mean they last more than day( which in my house I'm lucky if they even last that long!). Definitely a great dessert for the school/work lunch bags!
The combination of extra flour with a little less cooking time makes the chocolate chip cookie yummy, chewy, and irresistible. The way we love them. Have fun, good luck, and don't forget to clean up!
