Research the competition.
Find out what offers are out there. You may find some extremely good deals. Look for free hardware, free installation, free channel up grades, etc.
Step 2
Sign up with a competitor.
Doubtless, you will find a great deal with one of your current provider's competitors. I would suggest you contact your current provider first, but caution you they will most likely refuse to do anything for you. In that case, go ahead and set up at appointment to have the competitor install their product, assuming, of course, you like the deal they are offering.
Step 3
Call to cancel your current subscription. They will ask you why you are cancelling. Tell them the truth. Their competitor gave you a better deal. At this point, you will likely encounter a "specialist" who will magically be able to make special offers for you. Tell them what you are getting from the other guy. Tell them you would like to stay with them, but will have to take the best deal.
Step 4
If you get a better offer, call the competitor back and tell them you want to cancel the appointment. They will likely ask why. Do the same drill as in the last step. Try to get a better deal.
Step 5
Repeat until you can't get a better offer.
