How to Make the Best of a Difficult Situation

Rik Rodriguez
Making the best of a difficult situation is a chore. Having a victim mentality is not very productive and a good thing to stay away from. By this I mean having an attitude such as, "Why does this always happen to me." You may begin to realize that the reason that you are in a situation is because of something that you did. You made a choice and the situation that you are in has resulted from that choice. This is all part of growing up and taking responsibility for your own actions.

Taking responsibility doesn't mean that you have to blame yourself, just to put things into perspective. You may be thinking that you are not responsible for the situation that you are in, but in fact if you choose not to be responsible for your life you will always be feeling as if you are a victim. It took me many years to come to the conclusion that I am ultimately responsible for my own life. Not anyone else. I am the one that has to make my life better, not the government, not my spouse, not anyone else but me.

Realizing that you have the power to change things is the first step in righting a situation, knowing that you created it some how and that you also have the power to revamp it. Certainly most people have had many experiences in life that they would like to change. Sometimes we know what we would like in life and set the wheels in motion to adjust what ever we so desire. Such as find a new job, end or start a relationship, the list goes on forever. The true power of change is in your imagination. Your imagination is where the idea of change comes from.

Most situations are only as difficult as you perceive them to be, relax and try to focus on different solutions. Certainly you can make the best of any situation, learn from it and hopefully you will learn enough that it won't happen again. When I say relax, I mean if you can find a way to relax it seems like the situation is not really as challenging as you have been thinking it was. Try to look at it from a different perspective. You will be able to work things out. The only constant thing in life is change, if you can remember that one thing when you get in a bind you will have an edge over most people. Try to have a positive outlook and life will look totally different.
