How to Make the Best Drink Ever

The McCocktail is in full force these days, what with all these pre-made mixes. I and every true bar connoisseur must hearken back to the days of the True Host, who could offer any guest a homemade specialty at the drop of a hat. Why not make this one yours? It's GREAT and it's called a New Orleans Fizz; just famous enough to be mainstream, but not so much so that your guests won't think you're really cool for being able to make such a "difficult" drink.
  1. Step 1
    Look, if you've read my other drink articles, you know how I roll. First step is to make sure all your ingredients are top notch. That means lemon juice SQUEEZED from a REAL LEMON, ORGANIC powdered sugar, and grade A eggs only.
  2. Step 2

    The Gin: I like Beefeater England or Bombay Sapphire for this. These are the 94 proof gins, but you can add more sweet ingredients (sugar) if it's too much. This is where the love comes in. Experiment.

  3. Step 3

    Have a mixing glass ready with 6-7 ice cubes. Mix all the ingredients except the soda (Sprite). Put the gin in last. General rule for mixes is always put the alcohol in last.

  4. Step 4

    Strain into Collins glass; add Sprite. Garnish with orange. My rule is ask males if they want garnish. This drink's freakin fruity enough as it is. Females, garnish automatically. And do it with some flair; make em feel like a lady.
