How to Make the Best Omelets

Jason Ward
Well I know there are a lot of people out there who don't know how to make omelets and if they do then they usually don't turn out very great, you know what I 'm taking about burnt to crisp, or flavorless, well I decided to write this article to help all of you folks out so that the next time you are craving a really good waffle you won't run down to the nearest I-hop but instead you will be able to fry yourself up the most delicious nutritional omelet ever.

Did you ever wonder why places like I-hop and Pancake house make so much money it is because a lot of Americans believe that they could never make such good food on their own so they go and waste money which could be put to better usage.

Ok well now to start my little instructional, you are going to need the main and most important ingredient, you guessed it, EGGS!! Was it Niche who once said, "give me an egg and I'll give you a masterpiece" I'm not sure but it has a lot of truth. So once you have eggs decide how many you want to use, this usually depends on how hungry you are, if not so hungry I would suggest 1-2, if more hungry you could go anywhere from 2-5 it really depends on you.

So now you have to crack those eggs in a bowl (any type) and mix them really good with a fork or spatula, although I would recommend the fork as it doesn't let air in. Ok now at this point some people add milk to stretch the eggs and give them some extra flavor, I would not advise you do that as it can make the eggs lose some of their delicious flavor.

Now that you have that out of the way it is time to put that to one side and start on the insides of the egg (The best part) depending on what you like you can put a lot of different fillings like ham, bacon, chicken, steak strips, tomatoes, peppers, onions, spinach, and a host of other things (let your imagination run wild) so after you have decided what you want as your fillings (don't be shy to choose everything and make a monster egg) chop them up into small dice like pieces.

Now I want you to get a block of cheese (any type) and grate it into a bowl, if you do not have a grater you can also just cut into slices, the amount of how much you grate depends on you and how much you like cheese, I usually put quite a lot because I think that cheese makes an omelet delicious.

Ok now that you have done all that put a pan on the stove turn the heat up to medium and pour a little oil in, when the pan is hot enough throw all of the chopped fillings in and stir them around for about 30-60 seconds, take them back out and wash the pan. Now put the pan back on and pour some more oil when hot take the egg mixture stirring it one last time and pour it in, spreading it all around as you pour.
Ok, now take all the fillings and dump it onto one side of the open egg and sprinkle the cheese all on top of the filling, when the egg starts to get hard using a spatula gently flip one side over the filing side making it fold in half. Put a lid on and leave for about 60 seconds and then take off gently with the spatula.

Now Season it with salt and pepper and maybe some Tabasco and you have yourself an awesome home-made omelet.
