The first step when making steak fajitas is to get the ingredients. For steak fajitas you will need a lot of ingredients that can be found at your local grocery store. First off we need a very good piece of steak. You can get good steak at any meat store or your local grocery stores meat section. Steak is not too hard to find in most places. There are many kinds of steak so you will definitely need a certain type. For this recipe I would recommend chuck steak or top round. Now that you have your steak we will list the next ingredients needed.
The next ingredients that you will need are as follows thyme, green onions - (red or yellow, I prefer red it adds more flavor), and garlic. Some other ingredients are bell peppers any color, jalapeno peppers, and shredded cheddar cheese. Some more ingredients that are needed are dry ingredients like Italian seasoning, black pepper, salt, red pepper, seasoning salt, turmeric powder, paprika, taco seasoning, and Cajun seasoning. You do not need all these dry ingredients it just spices up the flavor more. You may use whatever you have but you do need salt, pepper taco seasoning, and Italian seasoning. The rest of the ingredients that are needed are tortillas, hot sauce, extra virgin olive oil, Italian dressing, pace picante sauce, lime juice, and mayonnaise.
The next step when making steak fajitas is how much ingredients are needed. Now we will list how much of each ingredient will be needed for this meal. First off we will need about one pound of the steak for this meal. Next we will need about eight tortillas which usually come packed already. Next we will need one bunch of thyme, one bunch of green onions, one onion, and two garlic cloves. For the bell peppers you can use one of each color that you have. You can use about two to four jalapeno peppers depending on how hot you like it. You will then need about two cups of shredded cheddar cheese. You will then need one tablespoon of each dry ingredient. The rest of the ingredients that you need are two tablespoons of hot sauce, two tablespoons of olive oil, four tablespoons of lime juice, two tablespoons of Italian dressing, two cups of pace picante sauce, and two cups of mayonnaise.
The final step in making steak fajitas is putting all the ingredients together. First step we will do is to get our steak and wash it clean. We will get a bowl place the steak in the bowl and wash it clean. To wash the steak clean we will use two tablespoons of lime juice and some vinegar. Make sure you rub the meat clean all over and then rinse off. After this is done you will want to dry your steak off with some paper towels. When handling any kind of meat make sure you wash your hands afterwards thoroughly. Now that your steak is all dry and clean you will want to get it marinated. Place your meat in a bowl then add the thyme, some green onions, half an onion, garlic, and all your dry seasonings. You will then add one tablespoon of olive oil, two tablespoons of lime juice, and the Italian dressing. You will then mix everything together in the bowl. Then place the meat in the fridge for an hour to marinate.
After the hour is done you will take out the meat and put it to cook. Most people prefer to grill steak for fajitas but I like to bake it instead. I think the baking of the mean makes it taste a lot better. This is an easy and quick process that will assure you great tasting steak. You will take the marinated steak and put it into a baking dish. You will want to pour some water in the bowl to make sure all ingredients and juices go into the dish. Then you will cover the dish with foil paper. The covering of the dish will cause the meat to broil and become very soft. This process will let all the seasonings soak into the steak and make it very tasty. You will want to cook the steak for about thirty to forty-five minutes under the foil. When this is done you can remove the foil from the dish. When you remove the foil your steak will probably have a lot of water in the dish. You can let the steaks water dry down until its good enough for you. Now with the steak done we will go to the next step.
You will now want to take the rest of your ingredients and fry them up. You will want to heat up a frying or sauté pan first. Then you will pour in your tablespoon of olive oil. Next you will add the bell peppers, the half the onion, jalapenos, thyme, green onions, lime juice, dry ingredients, and hot sauce. You will want to sauté these vegetables for about ten minutes. Once the vegetables are soft and brown around the edges they are ready.
The next step is to heat up the tortillas. You will want to warm up the tortillas in the oven for just a few minutes. The tortillas should just take about three minutes you do not want them to get to hard. Once the tortillas are done you will want to cut the steak in slices. You can cut them to make enough slices for all eight tortillas. You will then take your mayonnaise and paste all eight tortillas. Then you will place your steak into your tortillas. Then you will add your sautéed vegetables over the steak. You will then add some shredded cheese over the steak and veggies. Finally you will top it off with some pace picante sauce and you have an amazing steak fajita. Your mouth will thank you when you bite into this explosive flavored fajita.
So next time you're in the mood for something tasty and fun to make try this recipe. This steak fajita will have your friends and family coming back for more. You can use this recipe for a party, weekend, movie night, or even dinner. When you work with steak your meal will always come out great.
