How to Do Better in School

Robb Weigel
1) Have a GOAL with the subject(s) you are having the most difficulty with. Make it a quantitative goal--for example, shoot for a 91 in Chemistry. 2) Develop a PLAN to achieve that 91 in Chemistry. How many hours of work will you have to put in on a daily basis to hit that objective? What will you need to score on your tests? your quizzes? your homework? to reach that objective. These are all things that need to be worked out.

3) DISCIPLINE yourself. It's easy to do the subjects that come easy to you--English for example--but more tiring to do the subjects that are difficult for you. Don't fall into that trap! Work harder in the subjects that are difficult for you. This will help you build character.

4) Keep yourself ACCOUNTABLE to your goal and strategy. Do not waiver when things don't go your way at first--dig your feet in. Remember it's not just about doing better in that class. It's about sticking to your guns, working hard, and following a plan. These items are the roadmap to integrity. Remember: You'll never learn anything from what comes easy to you. Persevering through the difficult--that's what makes you who you are.
