Black List the Caller on Your Android Phone
If your Android phone allows, an option for completely blocking callers is to black list them. You can elect to black list a caller, which will send them straight to a busy signal. Keep in mind that you it takes a few minutes for this setting to take effect.
To black list a caller, press the "Menu" button, from the main screen. Then select "Settings" and then "Call Settings." Scroll to the bottom of the list and select "Black List." Click "Add Phone Number" and then you can either manually type in a phone number in the text box or you can click on the silhouette icon along the right of the text box and select an entry from your contact list. Click "OK" to finish.
Another way to add a number to your Black List is to hit the "Menu" button and then select "Add to Black List" when you are receiving a call from an unwanted caller. Keep in mind the caller will be immediately sent to voicemail. The next time they call, they will experience the busy signal.
To remove a black listed number, navigate back to the "Black List" screen and select the black listed number from your black list and click "OK."
Send Calls Directly to Voicemail on Your Android Phone
Navigate to your "Contacts" and select the contact you wish to send straight to voicemail. Press the "Menu" button and then click "Edit Contact." Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and select "Incoming Calls: Send Calls Directly to Voicemail." The caller will be sent directly to voicemail without the Android phone ringing.
This feature can be disabled by reversing the process.

Post a CommentI am not sure what version of Android has built in call blocking (not just forwarding to voicemail)? I use Advanced Call Blocker which will answer/hang up the call, silence or send the call to voicemail. It's easier than rifling through your contacts to send them to voicemail.
:)-generic, I'm technically challenged;)
