How to Block Your Cell Phone Number from Being Seen

Two Easy Ways to Being an Anonymous Caller

If you have a cell phone, you have probably wondered how you can block the number from other people seeing it when you call them. Whether you just want privacy, or you want to make a hilarious prank call that just can't wait, here are some tips to make yourself anonymous.

If you simply want your phone number to be hidden for one call at a time, there is one simple way to do this. This is good for situations like when you are making a prank call or you don't want to look stupid for trying to call the same person multiple times. All that you need to do to block your number in this type of situation is to dial *67 before the rest of the number.

Here is an example: *67 (222) 222-2222. This method usually works. You may want to try it out before you do it just to make sure. Try calling a friends phone or any type of phone with which you can see the number of the caller. This method does not block your number from emergency services so do not try anything stupid while calling some place like this. I have heard of many people that think they will be funny and prank call 911 emergency operators and then end up getting in a lot of trouble.

The other way to block your phone number, but this time permanently is to contact your cell phone company. They can permanently block your line if you ask. This process is not difficult either. Usually all that is needed is a simple phone call and they can do it right from a computer. The best thing about this feature is that even if your number is permanently blocked, there is a way that you can have your number show for a call if you choose.

All that is needed is to dial *82 before a call. This is just like a *67 call, but the exact opposite. This is useful in situations like when you call a person who only answers if they recognize the number.

Both of these methods for blocking your cell phone number are very simple and very effective.
