How My Blog Earned Google Page Rank in Just Two Months

Fast and Easy Ways to Get Page Rank

JR
Earning Google Page Rank is an important goal when it comes to marketing yourself on the Internet. If your blog or your web site has Page Rank (PR), it shows up higher in search results. More people find your writing, and as a result, you are able to earn more money.

I wrote this article to show people who are just starting in the freelance field (or those who for some reason weren't able to achieve Page Rank before) that it isn't very difficult. In fact I got Page Rank of 3/10 after only two months of writing for my blog.

But before you read any further, I need to warn you. This is in no way a foolproof method of gaining page rank. It did, however, work for me.

Introduction

I started my blog at the beginning of October. It was designed to document my journey to become a full time freelance writer. A journey I'm still on. I chose to use the Blogger platform because I knew it is a Google owned platform. My thoughts were that this way my blog will be indexed by the search engine sooner and with less actual work on my part. I chose an appropriate username, title and description of my blog. None of it were made with SEO in mind (I'm making a point of mentioning this, because some people think you need to have your web site really optimized for it to get page rank. Well apparently it's not the case). And I started blogging.

Building Links

I'm a very active Internet user. That's what actually made me think of earning money on the Internet in the first place. So before I started my freelance writing blog, I already had a certain Internet presence.

And the first thing I did after posting that very first blog post, was linking to my new blog from all the places I already used.

I posted a link to my freelance blog on my personal livejournal (I posted a link in my profile page, navigation bar of my journal and a sticky post that's always on top of my other posts).

I set my freelance blog as my web site in my Twitter profile.

I linked to the blog from my Associated Content profile, as well as my Helium profile and my mylot profile.

I also decided that if I register to a new platform or site, I will use my freelance blog as my web site.

Qassia

I came across this web site while looking for a way to market myself and my blog. It was rumored to help building quality links. I decided to try it out and see what happens.

Qassia is very easy to use. You set up a profile, you claim a web site and you start earning points. The more points you have the more quality links you get. Apart from that, you can add pieces of information (on any topic possible) that's called 'intel' and that earns you points as well. Additionally under every Intel you add, Qassia puts a link back to your site.

Most of the time I spent on that site, I used to 'screen intel'. It basically means you rate the intel submitted by other qassia users. It also earns you points. I did add some intel of my own, but not as much as I could. But screening intel is something you can do in between other activities. Which is exactly how I did it. I screen one intel, went to check my mail, I screen another intel, I checked my feed. And so on, and so forth.

Page Rank 3/10

Those steps alone earned me a page rank of 3/10. It might sound impossible, but I didn't do anything else to get a page rank. In fact nothing I did was to get me a Google page rank. I just wanted to be able to reach more people and help them earn money as freelance writers. I checked my page rank out of curiosity and was really excited to learn that my little blog (that honestly has very little subscribers or comments) managed what other super professional web sites work months for (sometimes even years).

What Next?

If you really love what you write about (and I sure do), you're most likely are reading web sites or blogs within your niche. If you do, and if you like the posts or articles that you're reading, comment on them.

This might sound surreal to you, but I haven't started commenting on various blogs and web sites only AFTER I learned that my blog has page rank. To be honest I still comment very little (I am planning on doing more of that in the future). But usual commenting systems allow you to provide a link back to your own web site. And that is very useful, getting people to notice your web site and adding yet another back link.

Another thing that I think helps with the page rank business is actual content. If you're writing quality content, if you have something to tell other people, something they might find important, you will always get a little link here and a little link there.

And you will see your page rank climbing.
