How to Book Cheap Bargain Flights When Traveling
Getting the Bargain Flights Isn't Hard to Do - If You Know Where to Look
The first thing to do is establish if the time you want to travel is considered peak. That will help to determine just how big or little of a bargain you are going to get. Since travel during such times as Thanksgiving or Christmas is a airlines dream, don't expect to find $49 dollar each way flights. Airline are too good at making money when they can. In such situations travel on the day of the actual holiday can save you some money, rather than 2 or 3 days before.
Second, sign up for travel alerts at sights that spend their time researching the best deals when they pop up. This can save you countless hours of trying to figure out the system. Site like www.AirFareWatchdog.com can send alerts to you when great deal arrive on departures from your city. Other great sites such as www.Frommers.com offer a community blog that can give helpful travel hints, comments about destinations, photos of places visited and even has its own cruise blog! Other sites to visit for information are Lonely Planet, Smarter Travel Deals at a Glance, and one of my favorites Travel Zoo.
There is also a terrific site called Bing which offers a "fare forecasting" technology. This means the site does a price prediction on if you should buy now or what for the price to go lower. The site states it searches over 100 airline and agency websites, then based on the information gather save you money in helping you to make the right decision on when to purchase. They boast a 75% accuracy.
If you prefer to do the comparisons yourself, then check our such websites as www. Kayak.com, which will search Expedia, Priceline, Travelocity and more all at the same time and give you the comparisons.
Finally, if you don't want to do all the shopping around to try and find the best deal and just want the site booking the flight to offer you a guarantee you are getting the best price, just go to www.Orbitz.com. Which will refund you the difference is someone books a flight through them for less than what you paid.
Finding the deals when you travel depends on flexibility, need and cost. For many travelers, tickets can be offered at great deals, but not at the times when they are needed. When purchasing your ticket, be open minded and see if you can be flexible, even by a day, can save you significant amounts of money. And whatever you pay for the ticket, even if the cost savings is only one dollar, be happy, its one more dollar you can enjoy on your trip for what you want.
