There are two ways to book travel on the train so here are steps for both.
1) Electronic tickets
Step 1: Go to google.com. In the search box type in "train travel". Many websites will come up including www.thetrainline.com, www.eurostar.com and www.eurorailways.com.
Step 2: Go to www.thetrainline.com first and under "What would you like to do?" you'll see "Buy Train tickets". Click Eurostar. It will take you to this site: http://www.raileurope.co.uk/eurostar/index.asp.
Step 3: Select a departing station and a destination under "Book your travel now". Then select a departing date and time.
Step 4: Sign up with raileurope getting a username and password.
Step 5: Pay for your ticket with your credit card online. Print out a paper copy of your ticket at home. This is called an electronic ticket. Or you can get the paper copy at the station by telling them your information.
2) Paper tickets
Step 1: Call the train station nearest to you. Find the number by searching for "train stations" on www.google.com or look up the euro train stations in the phone book. Many websites will come up when searching including www.thetrainline.com, eurostar.com and eurorailways.com.
Step 2: After calling, plan your trip with an operator.
Step 3: Go to the railway station and pick up your tickets.
Overall tips and Guidelines
1) Arrive early, at least an hour before your train leaves. Travel to the station, check-in, and security measures and actions take time. You'll have less complications if you arrive early.
2) Take plenty of water and food with you to snack on.
3) Wear comfortable clothing. You'll sleep easy on the train if you do.
4) Wear comfortable shoes. You'll walk a fair bit in London and you'll need shoes that can keep up with you.
5) Pick up some travel guides and maps from the railway station. London is one of the most popular cities in all of Europe and just like the rest of Europe it is beautiful and easy to get around in as long as you have the proper guide.
6) The bus and train systems in Europe is fantastic. It's easy to learn, just get bus and rail maps for the city and it will guide you fairly well.
7) Always confirm your electronic ticket with the train station before getting there. Tickets online can be changed so call the station after getting your ticket and confirm your travel arrangements.
