If you are looking to boost your WiFi signal on your cell phone you may be approaching the problem from the wrong direction. Rather than trying to increase the signal from your phone you should be looking at ways to boost the signal you are receiving. If this is the case you can try a couple of different things.

The first is to buy a mobile hotspot. This will instantly solve any problems you may have with WiFi signal strength (not cellular strength) to your phone anywhere a 3G or 4G mobile network is available. Additionally, it will allow you to connect up to 5 total WiFi enabled devices to your instantaneously created 3G or 4G network.

If your problem is more along the lines of being able to receive a WiFi or mobile network signal when you are outside your house or by a window but not when you are in certain rooms in your house. Then you have a couple of options depending on what you are most interested in accomplishing. If your main concern is the mobile broadband signal then there are a variety of antennas and solutions that will boost the signal inside your home. Just do a general search on Google for "cell phone signal booster or amplifier" and you should find what you need.

If, however, it is the cell phone WiFi signal and not the mobile broadband signal you are concerned about it gets a little more tricky or "techy." You will need a WiFi extender. An extender essentially captures a faint signal and then boost that signal as many as 3 or 4 times in strength, thus enabling it to penetrate to almost anywhere in the house. To do this you will first need to purchase a router that can be converted into an extender or "repeater." A good choice would be the Linksys WRT54GL router. Once you have your router you will need to set it up as a WiFi repeater. The easiest way to do this is to do this is to set your router up with DD-WRT firmware. Just go to the DD-WRT website and follow their tutorials on how to do this. After you have flashed the custom DD-WRT firmware log in to your router's control panel and set your router up as "WiFi repeater."

Once you have done this all you have to do is place your new "extender" or "repeater" in the window that allows you to get your WiFi reception and presto. The signal should now be boosted throughout the house.
