How to Boost Confidence with Constructive Criticism

Denise
There are a lot of things in life that make impressions on you in a positive and negative way. For instance, a person may not look right to you or handles the job in a careless way. This thought is only a personal opinion that is a privilege to everyone who uses their own opinion. However, some people abuse this privilege to spew out an opinion that is based on perception, but not truth. Meaning, a personal opinion is only one view of the subject that is neither right or wrong. It is just an opinion. Moreover, opinions shared in a negative fashion will not encourage cooperation due to the offensive nature of words that can hurt.
Since we are all different in personality it is who we are that dictates how we react.

Furthermore, negative comments can cause negative reactions that will not make the situation go in your favor. On the other hand, advice told in a friendly way can bring more success in those things you wish to change. For example, you hired a person to host a talent show for a fundraising event arrived dressed in a gawdy outfit. You have a choice to insult the person by comparing him or her to a clown, or casually mentioning an outfit that would look great. Most people will choose the first response since 75% of the population of people are mediocrates. The 25% of the population of people are individuals who look outside the box instead of living in a tight one. Who ever thought of constructive criticism wanted to encourage, boost esteem, performance, and expand ones vision. Those are the positive benefits to constructive criticism by the use of tact.

Tact is finding another way to explain something without stirring anyones emotions. The other way is the Blunt use of words that will tell the trut exactly as it is without considerations for feelings. The funny thing about that is that those who use the blunt form of speech gets upset when it is done to them. For example, you probably witnessed people who like to look at someone and laugh at the person aloud. You've also seen people like that react unrationally when their friends pick on them in public. It is the usual yelling and swearing along with the attempt at striking the people who insult them. Tact may tell a young artist what is wrong with the painting, and how to improve it.

That advice is helpful, but unnecessary insults just shrinks progress. In lay terms, destructive criticism is made to put someone down to make them feel as if they are always wrong. Constructive criticism is made to help people recognize areas that need improvement, and how to be better. The result from such advice meant to help is crucial to everyones self esteem and growth. The confidence from this achievement can stay with someone for the rest of their lives as with negative comments. We should treat others how we would like to be treated in order to make a difference.
