You want some tips on how to boost your Myspace plays? Well, I have spoken to a few artists on Myspace and got a few tips to their success and the benefits of Myspace plays. In case you don't know what Myspace plays are then I feel sorry for you. No really I do. Myspace has bands and artist of all genres from underground to mainstream artist. Of course the mainstream artist has more outlets for marketing and don't need tips.

Chances are you aren't mainstream yet. With that being said here are a few tips for you to boost your Myspace plays.

1. First you want to start by having your best quality songs on your page. A catchy layout and good quality photo's help also. You don't have to go out and buy a layout although it would help. 2. Add Friends ! Even if you don't know them, you can still add them. Remember these friends are potential fans. There's a few reasons you want a lot of friends. Well it's free promotion so get those friends talking about your music. Later on when you are ready to sell merchandise the friends will come in handy. 3. Now that you have a decent amount of friends it's time to start sending out bulletins. Yes bulletins can play a big part in getting plays for your songs. Make your bulletin subject catchy but not misleading. In your message put your mixtape player embed code or just simply invite people to come by your page and leave a comment. I am by no means encouraging you to send out a million bulletins at once because I can assure you people hate spamming. So be realistic with the number of bulletins you send out.

4. Promote your music page elsewhere. There's a number of ways you can do this. Post in forums with your Myspace link in your signature. Your email should also have a signature where you can add your link. Print you some business cards and flyer's promoting your Myspace link. This may seem a little extreme but the majority of the people in your town probably has Myspace. Wherever you can post or put your link to make it visible to others then do it.
