Occasionally we miss the speed of our PC although it was new. Or some how when the Operating System was freshly installed but it starts to slow down. Sometimes PCs tend to slow down after installing drivers, softwares, and applications. What can we do now. Should we take it to the service place or should we reinstall the system? Well, you have to read this article. It will guide you on how simple things can boost your PC. It's for the windows user only.
Remove unknown running programs or process
You may check your Task Manager by holding CTRL + ALT + DEL. Then look at the list of running programs. Most of the process names are self-explanatory so you'll be able to know what specific application uses it. If there is a strange name of program you may kill the process by click the program name and then click End Task. You may check the second tabs. There is a process list here. Check the unwanted process and kill it by clicking End task.
Protect your PCs from any kind of viruses
Most of PC's problem is infected by any kind of virus, spyware, worms, or even malware. This is happening if your PC is online or connected to the Internet. To protect your PC from virus/spyware/worm/trojan-free, it is better if you use programs that attack on malicious softwares. There are a lot of these free programs. Symantec, AVG, Ad-Aware, or spy-sweeper..
Clean up your disk to Free disk space
There are some options you can do. You can do all of these actions:
* Deleting your cache/temporary Internet files.
* Emptying your recycle bin.
* Removing temporary installation files.
For windows XP user, you may go to = Start-Accessories-System tools-Disk Clean Up. And then choose the disk you want to clean up and follow the next instructions.
Check and clean your registry
The registry is a bit 'sensitive' part of windows. Be careful when you want to modify it. For an easy and safe action, you may instead use registry cleaner to remove unnecessary entries in your registry. Of course, there are other registry cleaners available. Find it on Internet by using your search engine.
Manage your startup programs
You may do this by clicking Start, and then click Run. In the input box type: msconfig. Search for the StartUp tab. From there, you may then select the programs you prefer to start automatically when your PC starts or disable any programs that you don't like. By doing this, your PC will start faster and can free up some memories.
Another thing that can make your PC slow down is when you install the wrong Operating System. I mean if your PC didn't support the minimum requirements of an OS, it may go slow down or crashed.
