Senior VIP Bowling League
In the seasons of summer and fall of every year, the senior citizens sign up for the Senior VIP Bowling League. One of the requirements to bowl with the senior league is age, as each bowler (male or female) has to be a minimum of 55 years of age. Once they register and sign up, if they do not already have a team, they are allowed to choose one. There are approximately 30 different teams in the Senior VIP Bowling League with three bowlers on each team. After the teams have been chosen, it is time for the fun to begin!
Time to Bowl
Now, that these seniors have their teams, they are geared and ready to bowl. Most of them bring their grandchildren, as they come fully prepared with their gloves, bowling ball that was fitted just for them, team shirt and bowling shoes. Many of the 30 teams meet every Monday at the AMF Bowling Center for their bowling league to compete against other senior citizen teams in Irving. They also meet every Thursday just for the fun of it. Thursday is "play day," for the seniors as they get together to bowl and fellowship.
Bowling with Eagle 3
Eagle 3 is one of the teams in the Senior VIP Bowling League at the AMF Bowling Center. This team is very tough competition, as these seniors get serious when they bowl. Tempers can fly, as others get excited for their victory. These guys and gals are so entertaining and fun to watch, and they can definitely hold their own. Their skills led them to many victories and bowling tournaments. For two out of five years, Eagle 3 took second place, and won first place one of those five years. The bowler who held the highest bowling average on the Eagle 3 team in 2005 had an average of 205. This bowler is one I am personally proud of, because he happens to be my Dad.
Bonding while Bowling
The senior bowlers are not just rivals wanting to compete. They are friends who enjoy their time of bonding. Their level of compassion and generosity is inspiring. When one of them is sick, needs help or struggling in any way, they all come together in unity and solidity to form a barrier of strength to the one who is in need. My Dad is one of those who gives so willingly to help form this unity by giving the help that is needed. For these seniors, they really do know who their friends are in their time of need.
The Senior VIP Bowling League in Irving, Texas is for men and women senior bowlers who want to have fun, while competing. They are a group of lively and talented individuals who set a positive example for others. The senior bowlers manifest such a unique enthusiasm and vigor as they gather each week at the AMF Bowling Center to enjoy their favorite sport. If you are ever in the Irving area, drop by the AMF Bowling Center and see for yourself.

Post a CommentAnd actually, some of the best amature bowlers are older players. I'm 51 and love bowling and hope to continue playing with my league until I drop! Nice article.
