With Windows Vista, you can make flipping effect in 3D when switching between every application. However, at this time, Windows Vista is not the most common operating system. XP is still very popular.

If you want to enjoy this graceful effect of Windows Vista in Windows XP, you may want to try Topdesk, a software that displays beautiful show compared with Windows Vista. The most advantage of this software is you can control it by using hotkeys. Besides, it does not cost much of your system resource as well as RAM and memory. You can download Topdesk here, and then install the software. You have to set up few information to finish installing.

In "Layout Options", you have to choose your preferred particular effect. Your options are Flip, Spatial and Grid (Try each one, I think you will like all of them). In "Hotkey", choose your combination to switch between these effects and other function.

Depending on your computer's speed, you have to set up different settings in "Performance Options". Mark "Slower standard window image quality (uses less memory, less CPU)" if you have a slow RAM and CPU. Mark "Slower, improved window image quality (uses less memory, more CPU)" with the computer that has small RAM but high-quality CPU. Mark "Faster, standard window image quality (uses more memory, less CPU)" with the computer that has big RAM but not much CPU. And finally, if you possess a great system with high CPU and RAM, choose "Faster, improved window image quality (uses more memory, more CPU). You will experience different quality when using different option. However, you should not force your computer to work too much. It would be froze if you pick the wrong option.

In order to change another settings, right-click to the symbol of "Topdesk" locate at system tray and choose "Options". In "User Input" section, you will see some of its features:

- Tile All Windows: display all program on taskbar.

- Tile Visible Windows: only display program that you are using.

- Hide Visible Windows: conceal program you are using.

After that, depending how you want to use the program, you can set up hotkeys for each features by click "Hotkey" (for keyboard), "Mouse Hotspot Actions" (for mouse) and "Floating Buttons" (for desktop).

Windows tab allows you to create display style. Tiling Animation: permits you to choose between 2D and 3D. Choose "Scale & Rotate" and set up the right number for X, Y and Z to switch 2D or 3D. If your computer is fast, you can also mark "Update window images once before tiling (warning: slow)" and "Update window images once before tiling and continuously after tiling (warning: slow)". Beware that these two options is only for real fast computer.

Other options include "Performance" and "Layout". However, you have already set them up in installation. If you want to change anything, just click on it again.

Topdesk is the program helps you to bring Windows XP a little bit closer to Windows Vista. You would love these beautiful effects. However, be sure that do not force your computer to run too much.
