How to Build a Kaiba Deck in Yu-Gi-Oh

Yu-Gi-Oh is synonymous for many different types of cards, but none so famous as Yugis dark Magician, and Kaibas Blue Eyes White Dragon. Both cards appear in the show and are extremely powerful, but in the real card game that is anything but true. If you work out a deck that revolves around either on of these monsters, you're almost doomed to fail. Well with the newest release in the Yu-Gi-Oh world, Strike of Neos there are a few good cards that can actually make Kaiba's Blue Eyes White Dragon Deck a reality!

First you have to lay out some monsters that will help you to survive during the game. Here is a good idea of the type of monsters you want to have in the deck.

3 copies of Blue Eyes White Dragon
3 copies of Cyber Dragon
3 copies of Troop Dragon
3 copies of Shinning Angle
3 copies of Lord of D.
2 copies of Gray Wing
2 copies of Kaibaman
1 copy of Exiled Force
1 copy of Spirit Reaper
1 copy of Sangan

A total of 22 monsters.

Obviously Blue Eyes White Dragon is the main reason you would build this deck, to mimic the anime character Kaiba. These creatures are very costly, but with cards like Kaibaman will allow you to summon Blue Eyes for only one tribute rather then 2. Also Lord of D will protect your dragon monsters as long as he is on the field, and allow you to use the Flute of Summoning Dragon spell card. Grey Wings are great for a quick two hit combo, and Cyber Dragon is a must in any deck in the current format.

You're none dragon cards like Exiled Force are to keep field presence and save your life. Sangan and Shinning Angles will pull Kaibaman out of your deck while Troop Dragon will mill through your cards to get to your better stuff. Spirit Reaper will add frustration to an opponent because he can't die as a result of battle.

Your magic cards or Spell cards are going to be the heart of your deck by keeping your monsters alive and stalling out your opponents. Also you can use Polymerization and De-Fusion to work out some really wicked combos. I'll explain at the end of this guide

A total of 12 Spell cards

Smashing Ground and Noblemen of Cross Out will knock out opposing creatures, and Pot of Avarice will give you much needed draw power. To make use of your Blue Eyes White Dragons sitting in your hand play Flute of Summoning Dragon, this will allow you to special summon any 2 dragon type monsters in your hand as long as Lord of D. is around, and Ancient Rules will automatically place Blue eyes from your hand into play. Heart of Clear Water will keep Spirit Reaper and Lord of D. protected from spell cards and Premature Burial will call back any powerful monsters from your graveyard.

Traps in this deck are all about field control. You want to bring back some of your creatures, while killing of your opponents. This list details some of the more useful traps this deck needs.

A total of 8 Trap cards

Bottomless Trap hole will kill off almost any creature put into play, even if they are special summoned and Mirror Force is self explanatory clearing your opponent's entire field. Ring of Destruction can be used against an opponent, but if you use in on a Blue Eyes White Dragon after a direct attack, your opponent is nearly dead taking 6000 life points in total for one turns worth of work. Call of the Haunted will call back any creature previously lost to you, and Birthright will pull back Blue Eyes White Dragon from the graveyard for free.

Now the fusion fun! Find some spell cards, or Trap cards you don't want in this deck and add in any number of polymerizations and De-Fusions, also think about adding Fusion gate. Another key card needed is Future Fusion. All this will come together to summon either Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon or Five Headed Dragon, both are very powerful. One strategy looks like this.

Get a total of five dragons on your field and/or in your hand, play polymerization and summon Five Headed Dragon, attack. Then play De-Fusion on this same turn (because it's a Quick play Spell card) and special summon the five dragons used to summon the Five Headed Dragon. Then with these dragons on the field, attack until your opponent dies. Also if you use this variation with Future fusion you'll be able to choose the five dragons that will end up in the graveyead, 3 Blue Eyes White Dragon and 2 Grey wings. This way when you use De-Fusion you will have a total of 7 attacks because of Gray Wings special ability and also the attack of the 5 headed Dragon.

The De-Fusion combo also works well if you fuse 3 Blue Eyes White Dragons in your hand together to pull out Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, then De-Fuse them putting three powerful creatures in your corner. Another good spell card is Dragons Mirror, this allows you to fuse any dragon creatures in your graveyard to form the appropriate fusion monster.

This deck and its variants are mainly for fun. Due to a lack technical cards like Fissure and Torrential Tribute this deck will not last in a real competitive environment. However, that being said this deck is a solid build and will allow you to keep a very high field presence. Possibly with the right tweaking you could make a very competitive version of this deck.
