Many people think that marketing through email is a waste of time. How many people do you know that do not have an email? Just about everyone has an email account these days. Using email is a great way to market on the internet.
Everyone hates junk and spam mail. This is very true. There is a good way to get around this problem. It is called permission based advertising. You request permission to email the person with your product. This is good also in that you can refine your mailing list to people who actually want to hear about your products.
You don't want to mass email to just anyone. You want to email people that will be interested in your product and possibly purchase your product. Learn what group of people like your product and focus on marketing to that group of people. This will save you and the people you email time and the trouble of a worthless email.
Now that we understand the basics of email marketing, let's talk about building an Opt-in list.
1. Concise collection of information.
The point of collecting data from your mailers is to help you figure out how to market you product better, either by lowering its cost or by tweaking it to fit the people's needs. Know what questions to ask the mailers. Figure out questions that will make the people give you the information you need on the product. Don't ask too many questions. Be concise with what you ask, people get bored quickly. Make sure you get their full names and email addresses. You should frequently update your list and data from these mailers.
2. Get the needed programs.
Emailing hundreds of people is no walk in the park. It can take a long time and be a very tedious job. There are however many, low cost, programs available now that can help you with this task. Look into these for they will help you greatly. You need a program that not only can mass email for you but also track all of your emails. You will need to continuously sift through your emails and pick out the ones that would want to here from you again and save them, thus building your Opt-in list.
Here are some great, low cost, ways of marketing.
1. Websites
There are hundreds of safe list and free advertising websites out there, use them. They are a great way to collect data. Make sure your add has a place for the signer's full name and email address. If they sign up then they want to hear from you.
2. Try the old school methods.
Ads in magazines, television and radio are still very good ways to market you website. Make offers for free things if they sign up. They may have read about your website in a magazine or saw an ad on TV, but when they get on line, they will sign up once on your webpage.
3. Support
Your mailers will want help and will have questions about your product and website. You need to have a good support group for them. The people you have running your support should have good knowledge of the product and be willing to help the customer with anything and everything. Sometimes questions asked seem to be out right dumb, but if you are patient and helpful, you will have a loyal client base. Your support group will also need to keep in touch with current mailers and offer to update there accounts for free. This will continuously provide you with a fresh list of people wanting to hear about your products.
These are few things you should focus on when you're using an Opt-in list. Always make sure that your sign up form is short and easy. Never send emails to people if they indicate they don't want them. Build a good solid relationship with your mailers and let them know that you want them to benefit from your relationship. If you can master all of the above tips, then you will do well with your marketing.
