How to Build a Pet Sitting Website

M. Kaye Hash
Pet sitting is a very rewarding job and is often sought after by customers wanting to know that their beloved pets are well taken care of while their gone. One of the best ways to grow your business is with a pet sitting website. A pet sitting website will allow you to get information to your clients quickly and will let them compare you to other similar businesses. Use these tips to help you build a pet sitting website yourself.

Find a web building program. Many website building programs can be found that are free through web hosting sites such as, Yahoo, Register.com, or GoDaddy.com. Decide about how many pages you will need up front as the price may differ on a three page website or a ten page website. Also, look at several sites as prices can differ or one may be having a special you can't pass up.

Pick a template in the website builder that will fit best with your pet sitting website. A template is the best choice for someone who has never built a website before, or knows little about websites. You may choose colors based on a sports team in your town or you may look for something bright and colorful to show how much fun the pets will have with you.

Create the pages you will need for your pet sitting website. A home page is necessary to explain what your company does and what information can be found on your site. Other pages you may find you need are, a contact us page so people can easily find your number, email and address, a fees page explaining what a client can expect to pay for your services, and an about us page to discuss your company history and mission.

Research and use keywords, keyword phrases, titles, and page descriptions for your pet sitting website. You should research at least the basics of search engine optimization so that people will be more likely to find your pet sitting website. Submit your site to search engines such as Yahoo or Google, once you have completed it and went back through to make sure all of your links work and for grammar and spelling errors.

Place the web address for your pet sitting website on your stationary, email signature, advertisements, and your business cards so that people do not have to look hard to find information on your business.
