How To Build Traffic to Your Business Through Networking on the Internet with Michael Grisso

Spamming Doesn't Count!

I can make you $5,000 a month if you join my business! Take a look at this program, it will make you tons of money! Tired of not making money, join mine and change that forever!

Ever seen anything like this before? If you network on the internet most likely you have, especially if you are in any sort of networking community on the internet. Where thousands join and as they are supposed to meet and network with other like minded individuals instead many just throw advertisements around which if you haven't figured out yet is SPAMMING.

The exact definition of spamming you can find at wikipedia.com, but in short it means sending messages without others wanting them. This is one of the major problems in any networking community such as Bizpreneur.com, HomeBizSpace.net, or any other one you may have joined or used. Networking sites are used exactly like they say, to network. You meet people, build contacts, make friends, and build relationships just as you would if you were in your own local city or town meeting others.

I always like to say it's just the same as if you have a new neighbor in town. You go over (or at least you should) and introduce yourself to your new neighbors, tell them where you live, and let them know that if they need anything they know where to find you. Now doing this at home is pretty easy if your not shy, and trust can be earned a lot easier then on the internet. With scams all over the place most of the time you have to REALLY get to know someone and take the time to do so to build a relationship with them. So with this being an evident problem it's something everyone should learn to start doing.

I want to give you a great example that will help you understand a little better about the spamming problem and give you some tips on how we can change that. First things first though, when you network on a networking community do you simply send advertisement comments and messages to hundreds or maybe even thousands of people's profile pages? If you do how many of those advertisements do you think are being looked at on a day to day basis? Most people will ignore you, or even goes as far as to block you from viewing their profiles and tell others about you so others decide it's not wise to keep you around. Although it becomes irritating for many true networkers I always look at it as these people don't know how to network properly.

Now take John Doe who signs up for a networking community, builds his profile, and then starts chatting with others just trying to get his name out there a little at a time. Then he continues to meet others, start building relationships with them, and before you know it he has made some new friends. The friends start telling others about his business, and those individuals tell others, and the domino affect begins to take place and before he knows it people he has never met before are telling him how they met so and so who recommended that they should talk with him about his endeavors and see if they can't work together at some point in the future.

Obviously you know which person you would rather be. If you don't then you probably shouldn't network on the internet, or comeback when you realize that you made a mistake. There are so many tips you will be able to find on the internet, and one website that helps networkers learn and use different methods is ProfileNetworking.com, and that's just scratching the surface. Take the time to see all the things this website offers that can help you promote yourself and build relationships instead of just simply spamming a community for 2 or 3 days and then moving on to the next one. It won't get you anywhere.

I urge you to pass this article on to anyone that you feel spams in a community you are involved in and together we can create a virus (the good kind) that will spread across the internet and teach spammers how to network. Every time you feel someone spams you with an advertisement or an email just give them the link to this article and say, "Hey, thanks for your advertisement, this will help you with that". However, all we can do is give them the tools to do it, unfortunately it will be up to them to utilize it.

I can understand very well why people do not like to see spam on social networking sites. It a growing problem. I am a Staff member at Rotatrix Friends Network, and over there, it is very simple. Spam is not allowed. Members can pimp their profile all they want, but they cannot spam other members. Do to the job we do other there to make sure there is no spam, (and if there is, warnings are issued) members are much happier, which is why RFN is growing so very fast.
