How to Use Bumpits for a Stylish Look in Minutes
Bumpits by Big Happie Hair Are the Latest and Greatest Innovation in Women's Accessories
While you can't believe everything you see on television, using Bumpits is nearly as simple as it appears on television. With just a few quick steps, you too can have effortlessly styled hair in minutes. Sick of the same old boring styles, limp and flat hair and the slick, fresh from the gym look of tight ponytails? So was I, but unfortunately, I seem to have been born without the hairstyling gene. Anything fancier than not getting my brush tangled in my hair is beyond me. However, on certain occasions, no matter how pretty my dress, shoes or make up may be, my hopelessness with hair brings the look crashing down. Thankfully I found Bumpits, and much to my delight, even I can manage the simple, popular "bump" of volume that makes even the most plain hairstyles pop.
Step One: Choose which of the Bumpits you'd like to use. The standard package comes with two normal Bumpits, two small Bumpits for bangs, and one large one called the Rockstar. The Rockstar is VERY Miss America. For a simple daytime look, choose the middle size. I find that of all the Bumpits, I turn to the middle size the most. It gives just the right amount of volume for day or night, reserving the other two Bumpits for occasions that call for a more fancy updo.
Step Two: Put your thumbs just above your ears, almost as if you were imitating a moose. No, seriously. Moose it up! Draw your thumbs up and across the top of your head, meeting at the middle, and hold the hair you've gathered. This is going to be your bump. Right above the ears is a good place to start, with a lot of flexibility for different styles. As you experiment, you may find you like to place your Bumpits farther forward for a larger bump, or farther back for smaller.
Step Three: Pull the sectioned bit of hair straight up with one hand and use the other to smooth the front and gently tease the back. Don't tease it too much, however. The very problem that Bumpits solve is the hassle and tangles associated with too much teasing to achieve this look. More complicated methods of achieving the same look require teasing large sections of hair and laying smooth hair over top, resulting in tangles and broken hair, not to mention the fact that naturally limp hair will not hold a tease.
Step Four: Place the medium-sized Bumpits onto your scalp, directly behind the hair you've sectioned off. Give it a little bit of a wiggle to allow the teeth to grip the hair, and then drape the section you are holding over the top of the Bumpits. Don't let go until you give the hair a firm tug, working it into the teeth. At this point, give your head a quick spritz of hairspray. You don't need to much, as Bumpits do the work for you.
Step Five: Arrange your hair over the Bumpits, hiding it completely. Since the Bumpits come in four different colors, choosing one to match your hair is not difficult, and once you cover them, Bumpits cannot be seen. Using a pick, your fingers, or even an opened bobbypin, gently move the hair about until you've completely concealed the Bumpit.
Step Six: Accessorize! From this point, you have a lot of options. For daytime, pulling the rest of your hair back in a ponytail with a plain or funky hair tie not only looks great, but avoids the usual flat-headed, slicked-back look that plagues so many of us. Drawing back the sides and fastening with a jeweled clip is wonderful for evenings, and leaving the hair loose with a wide headband placed in front of your new bump is a classic look. Very Jackie O.!
If you suffer the curse of limp hair, lack of volume, or simply don't have the coordination to create contemporary, fashionable hair-dos on your own, Bumpits are the perfect product for you. Follow the simple steps above until you're comfortable with the product, and then experiment! Even the fanciest of looks are accessible to those of us with four thumbs, thanks to Bumpits.

Post a CommentSounds interesting! Thanks for the review.
I've seen the commercials for this product again and again. My hair already has a lot of volume and movement, which is why I don't plan on buying this product. But thanks for the review, Kelly. I'm sure it will prove useful for women who want to achieve different hairstyles that give their hair more volume.

Sounds cool - I have to admit, I haven't seen the commercials yet, but then again I haven't seen much TV either.
