How to Burn 100 Calories in 10 Minutes

If you are trying to lose weight but do not have a lot of time to work out, knowing how to burn a large amount of calories in a short period of time is essential. However, most people do not know what workouts burn the most calories. With these five high intensity workouts, you can burn 100 calories or more in just 10 minutes.

Jump Rope

If you have a jump rope and enough overhead room, you can burn around 11 calories a minute. Now keep in mind you will have to put forth effort during your 10 minutes in order to burn 100 calories. You cannot do 15 hops a minute and expect to burn 100 calories. Shoot for 50-60 rotations per minute to reach your goal.

Circuit Training

If you want to get tone while you are burning 100 calories every 10 minutes, then circuit training is perfect for you. Do one minute rotations of high intensity cardio and toning. Try to do the most repetitions possible during your 1 minute of toning to ensure your heart rate does not drop too low.

Elliptical

If you are working out at the gym or have an elliptical at home, use this piece of equipment to burn 100 calories every 10 minutes. The typical 140 pound woman should set their resistance to a 3 and keep their RPMs around 50 to maximize their calorie burning.

Jumping Jacks

Not only are jumping jacks a huge calorie burner, they are an exercise you can do anywhere without any equipment. Depending on your weight, you can burn up to 15 calories per minute. So doing just three 10 minute sessions could burn 450 calories!

Tae Bo

If you are looking to burn 100 calories every 10 minutes using a workout video, then consider one of Billy Blanks Tae Bo videos. These workouts can burn up to 12 calories a minute depending on your weight and are a great way to get out some aggression.So if you can sneak in 10 minutes of one of these high intensity workouts, you can burn 100 calories or more. As good as working out 10 minutes is however, it is recommended that you get 30 minutes of exercise five days a week. So if you can squeeze in just 3 of these routines into your day and you will have met the recommended amount of exercise.
