How to Get Your Business Noticed

Making Your Business Stand Out from the Crowd

L J Pearce
Starting a business is a lot easier than getting it known, raising awareness, building interest and so on. So where do you start I hear you say? Well firstly I would start by conducting some market research. Research who you competitors are and more importantly what marketing they put into action. I would then conduct some background and market research on your target audience. After all it is them you want to reach. Do they read newspapers, pay attention to flyers or are they more interested in radio adverts.

TOP TIP: To successfully get your business noticed you need to conduct research and you also need to do a bit of trial and error. For example try different types of marketing and advertising, monitor the results and then see what works best for both you and your company.

Getting your business to stand out from the crowd can be time consuming, but very worthwhile, as being a recognised and remembered business will be the difference between sales and no sales, so it is very important that you spend time, effort and even funds on finding out what medium your target audience will respond to.

Remember that being different, original, unique and creative will help you get noticed. Remember you do not need to be totally new, you could just reinvent the wheel - but you will need to think outside of the box in order to stand out from the crowd - and don't worry this does not have to cost you a fortune!

TOP TIP: Why not brainstorm with other people in your business, your friends and family and get other peoples input.

To get your business noticed you need to come up with a plan of action. Starting from day one. For example a plan of action could be produced alongside a marketing/promotions and advertising plan, so that the two coincide, enabling you to keep on track with what is going on. A plan of action might cover what results you want to achieve and how you will achieve them. I have always found having a plan helps keep you focused.

Some ideas for getting your business noticed could include: offering competitive good deals, offering good customer care and customer service. Organising events that include your local community, holding raffles and give aways and so on.
