How Busy Moms Get Fit and Healthy

Moms are often very busy people. They have laundry to do, supper to cook, and soccer practice to get to. Fitness and exercise are usually not out into the schedule. Most moms want to stay fit and healthy but simply cannot find the time, energy, or effort.

In some cases, moms feel that they should not take time away from their children to do things for themselves. However, making time for yourself can actually make you a better mom.

Taking time out and regrouping can make you happier and more stress free. This can in turn create a better mood with your spouse and children.

If you do not make exercising part of your daily or weekly schedule, it will never happen. Moms must make it as equally important as grocery shopping, laundry, and other household activities.

Get fit and getting into shape does not mean that you have to stay in the gym for an hour or spend half of your day jogging. A simple fifteen to twenty minute workout can make a big different in your attitude and your health.

It often helps to keep up the work out if you make it a date with other moms. Knowing that someone is waiting on you often helps you to make it a priority. Schedule twenty minute walk with some neighborhood women. Meet some friends at the gym as soon as you drop the kids off at school.

If your child is still an infant, these dates may not be as easy. You will have to work around feedings, naps, and crying spells. Your best bet may be to take advantage of her sleep times. Your baby may also find it assuming to sit and watch you hop around to music. It could just be the entertainment that you been looking for. If she seems really fussy, getting outdoors and taking a stroll around the park could help calm both of you.

If gym fees are not in your budget, you can find many common household items to work with. Many exercises can be done with a chair. Big balls are also great for exercise. If you have steps, go up and down them a few times for leg strengthening exercises. Just make sure that your heart rate increases.

Being a mom can be very hectic and stressful, you own your own personal time for getting healthy to yourself and to your family.
